Coach Sue,
Its Amy and Rachel, your assistant project coaches.
We have been talking to the kids and they have come up with a list of places they would possibly like to see on the outward bound trip they are:
PGE Park
Pioneer Square
OHSU
OMSI
Rose Quarter
PDX
The Zoo
Portland Rose Gardens
Portland EXPO center
mclaughlin house
Tillamook Creamery
So we just need a date and time we dont know if you want to plan the route ahead of time or what but yeah.
time date and meeting place.
Talk to you later

Hi Amy, Rachel and the team,
ReplyDeleteThanks to all of you for your hard work in self-organizing the Outward Bound day. I've been quietly checking the blog each day and have been really impressed at the contributions from everyone, the ideas and the resources you've all pulled together. GREAT JOB!
Thanks also to Amy and Rachel for volunteering to video/document the day ... way to go.
In terms of the questions you raised, the team can choose the day you all prefer -- which ideally would enable the maximum number of team members to join. As I understand it, Alexa can only make Monday and so if everyone else can also do that day (I didn't see a post from Mitch on that date question yet), we should pick the Monday. Can someone figure that out with Mitch???
And if Mitch can make Monday, let's say that's the day ... so please check with your parents to see if that works well for everyone ... and POST if it presents a difficulty!
Since this is a self-organizing event, you guys will want to pick a starting point. There's a 35 or 36 bus that goes downtown from Lake Oswego so if we want to start and finish with ice cream that might be a good way to go. But if someone has a different preference, now would be the time to speak up!
Then, it's up to the team to figure out whether it wants to plan the route or improvise as you go. If it's the latter, you'll need some resources to figure out how to get from place to place! If you want to plan a route, then someone can post some suggestions for preference on routes ... remembering that we're trying to get on as many different transportation types as possible.
One last thought ... do we know where we get the MAX etc passes? Can we get them from where we start?
So, I'm really looking forward to your final plan team ... this is comign together really well ... keep the decisions and the final plans coming together on the site here ...
CONGRATS -- and keep it coming --
Sue
Hey guys
ReplyDeleteI'd really like to squeeze in some time in Lake Oswego to do the Vestas and electric bikes.
Do you guys want to do the fire engines? Can't tell and I'd need to reschedule the fire department if you do. Otherwise, I'll cancel the visit.
Let me know!
Amiel
Hey its Rachel.
ReplyDeleteI was just wondering what we should set as our time constraints.
Also I think once we figure this out maybe Sue could contact everyone by phone so that everyone knows whats happening because some check the blog more than others.
Thanks
Hi Rachel, this is Sue
ReplyDeleteThe time constaints are the ones we set up in the first post: 10am - 6pm ...
Part of this Outward Bound day is designed to enable to the team to use this blog to organize its activities and ideas ... which they've done well so far.
However, I'd be glad to call everyone if it's needed: but I'll need the phone numbers and would appreciate them left on my cell phone via a message today. Do you have them Rachel, from your work with the team last year by chance? I'm traveling back from California today, by car; catching the blog as I travel in a cafe but not expecting to be back until later today, Saturday.
So if you or Coach Marvin could leave me the phone numbers, I'll call from the road. My cell is 541 490 2860
In the meantime, since we don't know on the blog whether Mitch can join relative to the two days but we do know that Alexa, Austin, Jeffrey and Amiel can make Monday, we'll set the day now for Monday. I'll post this separately in a new section also.
Looking forward to a call from you Rachel or Coach Marvin ...
Best to all
Sue
